A Little About Me:
I grew up in Overland Park, KS and I now currently reside in Lenexa, KS. I graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1997 where I played on the soccer team. I then moved to Lawrence, KS to attend the University of Kansas. I graduated from KU in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education. I took a couple of years off and then attended Washburn University in Topeka, KS to finish up my teaching certification. I student taught at Eisenhower Middle School of the Topeka School District in a 7th grade classroom. I then moved back to Overland Park, KS and substitute taught in the Shawnee Mission, Olathe, and Lawrence School Districts. My first full time teaching job came in the fall of 2007 when I was hired to teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 at West Junior High School in Lawrence, KS and now have been teaching at Lawrence High School since the fall of 2011.
Outside of school, I am actively involved refereeing soccer. I started refereeing when I was a freshman at KU. I started out refereeing little kids soccer and slowly started working to higher age levels. I currently referee youth, high school, college, adult, and professional soccer games throughout the year. If you see me out on the field please make sure to say Hi! I also referee a game called Futsal, which is an indoor type of soccer with no walls. I am also a referee assessor. I now am able to formally evaluate referees. I am also a referee instructor for Kansas, which means I teach referee classes. If you ever decide to become a soccer referee, you just might get me as your teacher for that also. Lucky you!! If you want to know more about how to become a soccer referee, just ask me.
I am looking forward to a great year with all of you!
